Ruggiero RICCI took his first violin lessons when he was 6 with Louis PERSINGER and then with Michel PIASTRO, Paul STASSEVITCH and Georges KULENKAMPF. Four years later he was making a concert in San Francisco where he was applauded as a Prodigy. This was the beginning of a long career with a first European tour at 14 within the best orchestras and then a lot of other concerts. His career made a strange change during the Second World War where he joined the air force and was in charge of the troops mood during three years. The radio diffusion of hundreds of his concerts recorded in unusual conditions, often without any accompanist, used him to explore the solo violin works. Since this time he get used and adept of solo recitals written by Bach, Paganini, Wieniawski, Kreisler, Ernst, Bartok, etc becoming the precursor of the renewed interest for the XIXth century compositors. His works is composed with more than fifty concertos with several from contemporary era such as Alberto GINASTERA, Joseph WHITE, Carlos VEERHOFF and Gerard SCHURMANN Ruggiero RICCI played more than 6000 concerts through 65 countries. He is now passing on his knowledge at the Indiana University Julliard School Michigan University and is teaching now at the Mozarteum Akademie in Salzburg, Austria.
